Here in this article we will see about what is Gate COF and X COF Problem. As the name suggest this problem is accrued due to the COF IC aging. In LCD/LED TV Mainly two type of COF IC is used one is X COF and another one is Y COF. Here below are some examples given here also some real life problem picture given for better understanding.
What is X COF / Source COF Problem?
Here first we will see about Source COF problems. Generally Source COF is placed at very first number right side of panel or last number left side of panel. By below image you can understand.

What is solution for COF IC problem?
- For Gate COF problem first we have to check all this voltage test point (VGH, VGL, VDD, 3.3V, GND) and also check for this signal (OE, CPV, STV, XAO). And if you find any missing then you have to put jumper wire connection from scalar board to Y COF.
- After doing this also problem not solve then in that case we have to change respective COF IC.
- If we talk about X COF Fault solution there were only two case. If there is vertical line or vertical belt then we have to change COF is.
- If after changing new COF problem not solve then we have to change scalar board.
- After approx 2 year of use it’s normal to have COF IC problem due to aging problem.
- So major COF IC related fault is solve by bonding process by changing new COF.
Note: This image shown is real life problem example. Every time may not possible same fault accrued. So according to COF IC fault we have to change respective COF IC.
